Habitat 500 Training Tips

Finishing, not demolishing, the 500 is the goal of our riders. Getting ready physically isn’t as demanding as many people think. And it can be a lot of fun. Remember that when it comes to the ride that you will have all day to cover the day’s miles and all week to get through 500 of them. Add plenty of food stops, encouragement and scenery along the way and almost anyone who sets their mind to it can do it.

A Sample Plan
You may use the following plan as a guideline, but remember that a plan is only a good plan if it works for you! Good luck!

We have gathered a series of articles on training from previous rider Paul Johnson. Paul is head cross country/track & field coach at the College of St. Catherine, which gives him professional insight into getting ready physically for the ride. We are lucky to have the following guidance to help each of us with our training plans.
